The Cowboys' future is unknown after a revamp to their coaching staff. Mike McCarthy, who was their head coach, was replaced with Brian Schottenheimer, also losing Al Harris, defensive coach, John Fassel, special teams coach, Robert Prince, who was their wide receiver coach, and other changes expected to happen.
The Future
Currently, the Cowboys are slightly over cap space; however, they can free up around $57 million if they restructure Dak and Lamb's salary to create more space. Jerry Jones
has made comments on the salary cap and what his plans are.
“I’ve got a feel for what the revenue is goanna be 4 or 5 or 6 years from now than anybody living. If you don’t understand what the revenue is goanna be, then you can’t look ahead and see what the cap is going to be.” -Jerry Jones, Training camp 2024

The Cowboys need to be a lot more aggressive, meaning the Cowboys need to start signing bigger names, even if that means they cost more. If the only thing you look at is the future, then you're going to have a very slow road to victory. Why not start building now? The Cowboys have struggled with managing the cap and spending it on the right players since Covid.
I don't care what the salary cap's going to be in five years—be aggressive and grab players who can win now. Stop worrying about who you might pick up in five years and focus on what's going to help you win now. I know I don't have much room to talk because I am not a salary cap manager, but that's not to say playing aggressively with the cap hasn't worked.
Take the Eagles as an example: they build a roster that revolves around paying top dollar that directly impacts winning games. They have a franchise quarterback, strengthening their receivers, and building a dominant offensive line. Additionally, their defense has the ability to control the line of scrimmage. This not only shows why the Eagles won the Super Bowl, but why. Simply because they can manage their salary cap well and acquire a good roster.
