The Cowboys' Dilemma: Wasting Prime Years and Missed Opportunities

ree

The Cowboys window for winning a super bowl is already closing, and the season doesn’t start for another 5 months. I know I’ve written about the cowboys recently, but man you can’t make this stuff up.

It’s no secret that the Cowboys have been struggling for a while, whether it’s due to Dak Prescott falling short of expectations, or that Dallas needs to stop letting Jerry Jones run the show. A lot of Cowboy fans feel this way, myself included. In the last article I wrote about the Cowboys it was about how they need to go big, stop worrying about the price tag. They did the complete opposite.

It was reported a couple days ago that the Cowboys were interested in accruing Cooper Kupp, formerly a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, and that Kupp was interested in going to Dallas. However, on March 14th Kupp signed a three year, $45 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks. CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott tried to persuade the wide receiver, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The reason they couldn’t acquire Cooper Kupp, the price was too high.

and they were at numbers that the Cowboys weren't going to get to

They need to take risk, they’re wasting the prime years of CeeDee lamb, and Micah Parsons. They don’t have 5 or 6 years, and Kupp could’ve been that guy, but backed off from the opportunity. We still have 5 months until the season starts with Brian Schottenheimer the new head coach, free agency is still in full swing until mid-June then it’ll slow down. There’s still time to make a big move, but will they?
