The biggest misconception

One of the biggest debates in sports is the pay difference between men and women. We've seen Allyson Felix, Kara Goucher, Serena Williams and more female athletes trying to fight for that opportunity. The Women's national soccer team fought for it and achieved that goal. The next question is, will we start to see this in other sports?

LeBron James is the highest paid NBA player with his salary being $119.5 million. The highest paid WNBA player, Diana Taurasi gets paid $228,094 which is the max amount she can get paid. WNBA players aren't asking to get paid the same amount as NBA player, they're asking to get paid the same shared revenu as men.
Kelsey Plum who plays for the Las Vegas Aces, recently went on a podcast called, "The Residency Podcast". She went onto to say in the interview that if someone were to buy her Jersey in Mandalay Bay she doesn't get paid anything. In the NBA men receive 45 percent on each jersey sold in their name. She also mentions that in the NBA, their CBA negotiates where the money goes, and she says that's not how it works for WNBA players.
"for example if they sell my jersey in Mandalay Bay, I don't get a dime."
The NBA makes around $7.4 billion in revenue, while the WNBA makes around $60 million. It's not the WNBA's fault that the revenue is much lower than the mens, the hard truth is that most people will pay for an NBA ticket rather than a WNBA ticket. Is it possible for the women to get paid the same percentage of revenue as the men? No, unfortunately for women to get paid the same revenu as men or even close, the WNBA has to increase the salary cap.
