Future for the Cowboys

If you're a Cowboys fan you already know where this is going. Last season Dallas went 12-5, and made it to the wild card, playing against the 49ers. They lost 23-17. (maybe if the ref touched the ball on time it would be a different story.)
Coming out to the field during week one against Tampa Bay was gonna be a battle for the Cowboys. Halftime the Cowboys were down only by nine, 12-3. Then Tampa scored the first touchdown in the third quarter and Dallas would stay at three points the rest of the game.
Dak Prescott would get injured towards the end of the fourth quarter which led to Cooper Rush, the Cowboys backup quarterback to come onto the field. Dak is out for a few weeks and is needing surgery for his hand. While Dak is out there are a few replacements that Dallas could use.
Cooper Rush
Rush is most likely gonna stay as the quarterback while Dak is out. Rush performed well enough in week two while playing against the Bengals. Even taking Dallas to win 20-17. However, the backup quarterback does not perform well under pressure, Rush tends to either throw it way over the head or too short and aim for the feet. Though he probably didn't expect to even play at all this season, and to help the team to get a win against one the super bowl contenders from last season is huge.
What's the future
With the star quarterback being out it might be difficult for Dallas to stay afloat. Today the Cowboys go up against the New York Giants and will most likely come out with the win. Though it won't be an easy win for Dallas. The Giants defense is gonna play the biggest part in tomorrow's game, with the Giants defense "yielding 317 yards per game". Rush has shown us that he can complete passes and gets yards but is it enough to get past New York's defense? It'll be hard but in the last game Rush got 235 yards and completed 19 out his 31 passes, with no interceptions. Dallas has a chance at this game as long as Cooper Rush doesn't panic when he has the ball and the defense needs to stay solid.
