Chet Holmgren was the No. 2 pick in this year's NBA draft. Chet is expected to miss the rest of the season, due to a foot injury.
Most OKC fans are upset, for the past two years, Oklahoma has been at the bottom of the standings, being number 14. Holmgren would've been a threat on the court to most players, and would have turned things around for the Thunder.
The rookie stands at 7 foot and coming at 195 pounds, which many would think that he wouldn't know how to handle the ball. However, that's not the case. During the Las Vegas summer league, Holmgren played five games and out of those five games, the 7 footer averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds.
While Holmgren is out for the rest of the season, he is still in the gym and getting his upper body strength up to work on his shot, Presti said.
What does this mean for OKC? While their star player is out, it doesn't mean they're gonna go back down in standings. The Thunder still have Jalen Williams who was the 12th pick in the first round. They also have Ousmane Dieng who was the 11th pick. While Williams plays a different position than Holmgren, that doesn't mean he won't help the team.
