Four weeks into the NFL season, and already everyone has predictions on who is going to win Super Bowl LX. The top three in the power rankings this week are,

1.        Philadelphia Eagles

2.        Buffalo Bills

3.        Detroit Lions

The Bills and Ravens faced off in week one. Going into the fourth quarter, the Ravens were up 40-25. Josh Allen led the Bills to overcome the 15-point lead and walked away winning, 41-40.

In past seasons, the Bills have struggled. Either blowing it when they get close to the playoffs, or just the other team simply outplaying them. Back in 2022, during the divisional round playoffs, the Bills played the Chiefs. With 13 seconds left on the clock, the Bills led 36-33. Patrick Mahomes takes the field and drives his offense 44 yards and gets his kicker in position to score three points to make the game go into overtime. The Chiefs won the coin toss and made the first touchdown, ending the game, 43-33.

Past Games that Got Away

2023 Regular Season: Bills vs. Eagles

The Bills had a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter. Jalen Hurts was able to take the Eagles into overtime, where Jalen would score the game-winning touchdown.

2022 Regular Season: Bills vs Vikings

The Bills led 27-10 in the third quarter. The Bills were backed up to their own 1-yard line. On the snap, Allen mishandled the ball, and it rolled into the endzone. Vikings LB Eric Kendricks fell on it for a defensive touchdown. The 4th quarter ended tied 30–30, sending the game into overtime. The Vikings opened with a field goal, giving the Bills a chance to respond. But Josh Allen threw an interception to Patrick Peterson in the end zone, ending the game at 33–30.

The Future

This year is different. Not just Josh Allen, but both the offensive and defensive lines. The Buffalo Bills’ opening game got everyone excited. It was a back-and-forth game against the Ravens. Josh Allen was able to pull off a win, 41-40. Allen got two out of the five touchdowns.  The defensive line played an average game, getting 50 tackles, two sacks, forcing two fumbles, and recovering one. They allowed 432 yards, but they were still able to hold the Ravens back.

Currently, the Bills sit as the Number one team in the AFC East, with 4 wins and 0 losses. While the Bills have been playing great. Playing Devil’s advocate, their schedule has been relatively easy opponents. They’ll play the Patriots next week, and on November 2nd, they will face the Chiefs. These upcoming matchups will provide a crucial insight into how the Bills will play the rest of the season.
