Golden State is slowly taking the title away from the Celtics. Winning 104-94 in game five, and having a 15 point lead in the 1st half. Boston didn't have the best game of their career as well as the Warriors.
The Warriors did end up winning last night regardless of the fact that the king of three pointers went 0-9 for threes. Curry has played 133 playoff games and last night was the end of Golden boys streak. However, Steph still finished with 16 points. Andrew Wiggins took the place for Curry and scored 26 points and Klay Thompson with 21 points.
Boston on the other hand wasn't so lucky last night. They had 18 turnovers that led to 22 points. During the first half when the Celtics were down nine 8-17, they took Jayson Tatum out so that he could "rest". Soon after they put him back in when the score was 10-24. For some reason Boston would freak out whenever they had the ball up until half-time.
"When Boston locks down Steph, thats when they are in good shape and can get ahead." - Anonymous
It's not just Curry they needed to lock down that game, it was Andrew Wiggins. Boston would blink and there goes Wiggins driving to the basket. Many fans were shocked at how good Wiggins performed in Game five.
What happened to the Celtics? Going into the finals Boston was in good shape going into game three with the series tied 1-1, and won 116-100. The games that would follow would slowly slip away from them. The next two games the Celtics wouldn't"t be able to even make it to 100 points. That could because Tatum is struggling to put up shots anywhere but from the three, according to The Sporting News.
Jayson Tatum stats
11% from midrange
45% from the perimeter
35% in the paint
For Boston to have a chance at winning the Championship title they need to really focus and lock down in the paint. They need to not lose focus of Wiggins and Curry, as well as relax when they have the ball and make smart passes. Keep it Simple.
