One of the longest World Series games took place on October 28th. It lasted 18 innings and lasted six hours and 39 minutes. The game ended around 11:50 p.m. PT, giving each team less than 18 hours to recover before the start of Game 4.

This game was mentally and physically demanding. Between both teams, there were 19 pitchers, 609 pitches thrown, and 153 plate appearances.

Bottom of the 7th inning, Shohei Ohtani would hit a home run to tie the score 5-5. Which would then lead to neither team scoring for the next 11 innings.

Freddie Freeman would be the guy to hit a home run and win Game 3 for the Dodgers and lead the series 2-1. It wasn’t the first time Freeman would hit a grand slam to end a game in the World Series. In Game 1 of last year’s World Series, he would hit a home run to end the game.

Before the game, Fox interviewed with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, where he talked about what Game 3 had in store.

“It’s gonna be a battle of the bullpens tonight.”

Little did he know that the battle would turn into an 18-inning war.

Jon Heyman, a New York Times reporter, said that Otani was given IVs after the game. He was seen leaving the stadium around 1 a.m. PT, after reportedly being in the trainers’ room. ESPN reported that it was to treat leg cramps.

In Game 4, Otani was the starting pitcher and didn’t look like a guy who had just played six hours of baseball, less than 15 hours ago. He pitched six innings with 93 pitches. However, he gave up four runs. He also went 0-3 at the plate. (Getting one walk at plate) The game ended 6-1, Blue Jays.

Right now, the Blue Jays lead the series 3-2. Tonight is Game 6, and either the Blue Jays are gonna walk away with the Commissioner’s Trophy, or we will get to watch one last Game on Nov. 1st.
